SEER Intelligent Logistics Solution for Automotive Electronics Processing Workshop

Background Of The Project

At present, my country is in an important stage of transforming from a manufacturing power to a manufacturing power. In the production workshops of most small and medium-sized enterprises, the level of production automation in some links has gradually matured, but in terms of workshop logistics and transportation, it is still mainly solved by manpower. With the continuous increase of labor costs and the serious shortage of young and middle-aged labor in the manufacturing industry, the use of robots to replace people to solve logistics and transportation has become an important way for enterprises to improve their production efficiency.

Customer Issues

The customer is a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in Europe and America mainly engaged in developing and manufacturing global small cards for high-tech mobile communication, e-commerce, secure transaction and card management. There are three production zones and one large warehouse in the smart card production workshop. The material transportation between the warehouse and the production zone is carried out by manual forklifts, which not only means large workload and low efficiency, but also is prone to safety hazards. It is urgent to realize the logistics automation between the warehouse and the production zone.

Solutions

Based on the site situation, SEER assisted the integrator to implement the logistics automation transformation for the company, and helped the company achieve automated transportation between the warehouse and the production zone through an integrated solution covering the SRC-powered latent-traction mobile robots, the One-stop implementation tool Roboshop Pro and the SEER digital system software.
There are 3 production areas and 1 large warehouse at the user site. The coils in the warehouse need to be transported to the production area for slicing processing, and then processed in multiple processes such as punching, packaging, and testing. After the processing is completed, the finished products are shipped back to the warehouse.

In this solution, the call is made by a hand-held PDA, the storage locations are managed by the digital system software, and the order requirements are issued to the dispatching system, which assigns the robot to perform tasks and fulfill the needs for transportation between the warehouse and the workshop, and among the production lines in the workshop.

Difficulties in Implementation

1. Great staff mobility of the workshop easily triggers a series of unpredictable dangerous situations such as collisions and deadlocks;
2. The channel is narrow, and the environmental dynamics of some zones vary greatly.

Program Highlights

1. Use reflectors to assist locating in highly dynamic zones to ensure that robot locating will not be lost;
2. The mobile robot has the basic feature of autonomous and intelligent obstacle avoidance, and is able to effectively avoid pedestrians;
3. The project manager conducts training on safety knowledge for the workshop staff so that pedestrians can reasonably avoid the robot.

Benefits To Customers

1. By using robots to replace manual forklift transportation, the labor cost Is reduced and the working efficiency is greatly improved, avoiding the safety hazards existing in the manual forklift transportation; 2. Effective connection and close cooperation is achieved between multiple production lines and the warehouse, greatly improving the level of digitization and intelligence of the plant workshop.
